HAPPAYE CLAPPAYE! :D:D

So far so good.

Thank God that this week was quite a fruitful one. It was madness compared to the past few weeks of slacking and lazing around, 'was wondering why I get easily exhausted these few days but maybe 'cos the body couldn't adjust to the sudden flurry of activity...Urgh, better do something about it :S

Anyway, the "Zhong Hua Ying Xiong" event is like my baby now, in the sense that I've been quite immersed in preparations for the event (something which I've never really committed to before for past church events). From the painting of props (which was more challenging than I thought!) to the brainstorming of ideas for the booth decor, as well as the rehearsals for the mini-drama, I'm starting to wonder how on earth are the pastors able to manage (and sustain) event after event! Their dedication is seriously admirable,not only must they plan and manage the people and logistics for the event, but they have to see to the people's welfare (eg. sending them off after rehearsals, ensuring their basic needs are met during prep for the events, availing their homes for practices,etc...) And this doesn't even make up half of their job scope!

Anyway, the drama is coming along well. The choreo's much better now (David, Joelle and I spent almost the whole afternoon coming up with it!), all it needs is a bit more sponteneity and energy from the cadets. We had a stage rehearsal, which was quite good (depending on how you see it) cos the cast was more into their roles, to the point where Ben ripped the wire of my cordless mic and Alan was so violent that he splintered the bamboo stick! XD

Hmmm...still need some direction on how to portray Mulan, especially THAT particular part...


And I really have to thank God again. Pastor Mong Yee called me last night!! I might be in Music Ministry now and 'cos of that, Mom and Sis are attending Alpha with me! Don't think you'll understand my joy but it really means a lot to me, ya know XD

And I know all of you will say I'm crazy but I'm running in the Army Half-Marathon (yes, HALF MARATHONN!) in August! Nelvin really suits his day job man (that's sales, btw)..think he managed to convince Alan (who wasn't too keen about it initially) to join too, and he even got Trina! Pray for me man, I don't wanna end up half-dead, with foam and drool oozing from my mouth (with my life flashing before my eyes) during/after the event!

And to end on a nice note, Esther kept to her promise! Not sure whether I'm allowed to post this picture..don't think she visits my blog often..heh...

To mark her "coming of age" and her sole, courageous voyage into the Twenties, I "graduated" her! Happy 20th! :D

A Day in the Life of...

"Zhong Hua Ying Xiong" (aka Chinese Heroes) night is approaching in 11 days' time! I'll be acting as Mulan in the Region A drama. Still feeling a lil' jittery 'cos this is my first time acting in church so if you can, come for the event okayee! Ask me for more details!

And Yee, I don't think we are allowed to videotape the drama 'cos I think it's prohibited so you'll have to go if you wanna see me "live and acting like a woMAN"...haha!

Actually, it's an adaptation of the Disney Film, a more contemporary setting without losing its essence. For now, the cast and the script is more or less settled...the soldiers are really a motley crew of...hmmm..adolescents...haha! And the Good General's not as bad as I thought (phew!)

Did part of the choreography at Pastor Quee Beng's place just now, even though I feel that they could be a little more synchronised. This might get better over time though, when the guys are getting more familiar with their roles. Hmmm, better not reveal too much lest it breaks the suspense! XD

Class gathering yesterday, mainly cos Rach's back (another excuse to meet up!) Waraku's food sucked! Miso Ramen was so salty!!! Maybe that's why they used the big,ostentatious-looking bowls to make up for it....argh! And Paulaner was great but I was slightly groggy by then...

Updates, downsides,uphills,backtracks...

First of all, to the people who asked about the Mt Faber Run, thanks for your concern and support! :)

The run was definitely more challenging than the previous one due to the slopes. Because of them I couldn't endure as long as I would like to and I ended up stopping to walk periodically! And cos of that my timing deproved! :( Anyway,it was a good experience....too bad I couldn't linger to appreciate the scenery from Mt. Faber! Saw many more fit people who had iron and steel for muscles and bones. They ran like clockwork, not to mention the "unique" warmups they conducted prior to the race! XD Thought I saw Kai Ning there but my eyes might just be playing tricks on me....

Anyway, this week might be my last week of freedom, depending on the circumstances....haha...

Sab's doing her recording for the vocal demo tomorrow, can't wait to see how it's like! Was really inspired and motivated when I saw her live during the dance recording. She's gonna teach me one day! Woohoo!

Gotta run now, stay healthy everyone! The weather's a killer these days...

YAY! I GOT NDP TICKETS FOR THE ACTUAL DAY! :D:D

Almost screamed into the phone when the person called to inform me about it. Imagine how the winner of Miss Universe must have felt, or even the winner of Singapore Idol! XD Could tell Charlie Brown was ecstatic too cos he was the one who told me to try balloting for it :D

Sentosa yesterday with Elizabeth. My sunburnt arms are tingling and starting to feel itchy...Realised that I haven't been to Sentosa for ages so, many changes made! (My first time taking the Sentosa tram from Harbourfront. Quite noob I know!)

Wanted to be all touristy and explore Fort Siloso and Underwater World but can't bear to part with what little cash I had...I wonder how tourists will rate Sentosa man. Nothing much unless you love the beach, at least until the IRs and the theme parks are up.

Anyway, church camp was great although the place was a lil' too secluded, which means no shopping (the nearest mall was 15 mins' drive away) and no late-night suppers. Actually there wasn't a need for supper cos the frequency of our buffet-style meals and the quantity and quality of the spread, ensured that we remain as healthy and prosperous as prized pigs. Sadly, the only form of exercise I got was a 2-hour leisure swim with Wenyi, Norina, Christine,etc...which didn't really help much. Could have gone to the gym like the others but I had limited clothing.

Another interesting fact: the hotel had a manual wake-up call service. Usually, when we dial Reception and ask for wake-up call, they'll just set a programmed call for the next morning, but this one actually sends the staff to knock on your door to wake you up! XD

*Doorbell rings at 6 plus in the morning*
Me: (shuffles to the door in my PJs, complete with messy hair and sleepy eyes, opens the door)

Who's that?

Staff: (in a cheery voice) Morning! This is your manual, wake-up call service! :D

Morning and night services were great, wished I had more energy cos strangely, I kept feeling tired and lethargic throughout the camp even though I didn't do much (I suspect the sudden change in my sleeping habits could be the cause) Nevertheless, it was an insightful experience...

My sister got stopped at Singapore customs on the way home due to her higher-than-usual body temperature. In light of the H1N1 incidents, they have this heat scanner devices at immigration to quarantine anyone who falls in the high-risk level. Could tell my sis was shocked but they released her and gave her the usual advice to lower her temperature.

Missed home a lot though and I'm glad to be back! :D

Pre-camp postulations

Hello people of the world!

Life's a beach these days. Late nights, waking up to the lunch hour, being immersed in novel after novel, eating whatever I want and going wherever I want at my own time and pace,etc...love the hols man! :D

Having said that, thank God that Sophie-D did reasonably well for her French and other modules!

Anyway, I'll be going away for church camp from tomorrow till Friday afternoon and much as I wanna get out of Singapore asap, a part of me seems reluctant to leave our sunny shores. This camp wouldn't be the same as the previous few cos Esther,Sab and Mid wouldn't be there (which means no late-night chats, playing of pranks and pillow fights!), this is Mum's maiden experience (the family's rooming together) and we'll be leaving on the last coach at the latest timing, much to my aunt's dismay...haha...

On the plus side, I won't have to worry about my meals (for eg. what to have for the next dinner,etc...), the hotel seems pretty interesting (heard they have some horses there to ride or something like that), there'll be plenty of time to swim and I think I have potential supper buddies! :D

Nevertheless, I hope and pray that everything will be much better than expected. But of course I'll miss people like Roy (You're first on the list, be honoured!), I'll miss Ellen D. (stay gay and happy), I'll miss Shisei (heh heh), I'll miss Papa Bear, jogging with Zhiyi (I promise I'll try to fix another date k!) Swensen's 1-for-1 Deal, Tampines One and it's air-con, Cold Storage's Black Pepper Chicken, the hot blazing Singapore afternoons (not!), my bed, my fave hangout Tampines library (and the smell of books), and definitely not the Stinky Blob (haha...no la,of course he'll be dearly missed when I remember him, that is!)
