Actually, I really don't know what to say regarding my birthday. I mean I really don't deserve all these and actually felt a lil' uncomfortable with all the attention showered on me on my birthday but seriously, a big THANK YOU to EVERYONE who made my day such a special one even though this year is A Level year. I actually thought that this year my birthday would be a simple affair with my family due to everyone's busy schedule but really, thanks to whoever's involved and reading this.

When I first reached school, Olivia celebrated with me at our morning hangout. She was really sweet la, prepared with cake and all!

Some of my classmates also had a "mini celebration" for me at the cafe...hahaha! Pictures courtesy of Samantha, Rhyss and Louis :)

Steph improvised and came up with the birthday "cake" :

They are really superr duperr sweet man...it's friends like this that makes me sane in our stupid stressful JC lives man!

After a long day at school, Sam wanted to come to my house to "claim the Hillsongs CD" of which I gladly obliged but before that happened, Rhyss, Charlene and Sam wanted to go to the waffle shop to "grab a bite" [of which they actually did...]

Then Charlene had to go back to school to "meet William for 10 minutes" and that we had to wait for her. After a painful long wait [heh heh!] did we part ways. Upon alighting at my bus stop, Sam seemed to be stalling for time [but at that time, it wasn't THAT obvious yet I must say]. We took the back route to my house and as we were approaching the lift lobby, I saw a bunch of tpjcians hiding behind the postboxes "busying themselves with something" according to Sam.

I couldn't hold it back any longer and broke into a smile upon realising what they were trying to do, in the midst of Sam's futile attempts to salvage the situation by coming up with many reasons as to why these group of tpjcians could suddenly appear under my block out of the blue. [woah, this is sounding more like some primary school essay writing exercise!]

Anyway, Sam decided to give up and started cursing and swearing upon realising the failed attempt to surprise me together with Mimi, Charlie Brown, Sochenda,Louis,Eugene,Shannon and Ai Ping.

Rhyss and Charlene managed to get there before us too.

The group made me catch balloons that were thrown by Mimi and Charlie Brown from the 5th floor of my block, burst it in any way I could and read the message that was in the balloon. [Mimi and Charlie Brown had a field day man, throwing many balloons at the same time at different positions!]

You see, such an exercise would have been chicken feet to anyone who could withstand the torture of feeling the impact of a balloon as it bursts on your bare hands/feet but the problem was that these cunning bunch of rascals touched on my most primal fears: bursting balloons.

I tell you, the experience was really very traumatising and more tiring than running 2.4km man!

The rascal who made all this possible :)

After reading through all 22 of the messages it felt as if they were describing someone foreign to me cos they all sounded too good to be true. [I'M SERIOUS!!]

Actually, they did succeed in surprising me when Vivian,Jillian,Zhiyi and Duc came later on. [Someone mentioned that they were unable to come]

And after that was the Chocolate Peppermint Cake. [Rhyss, Chocolate and Peppermint is nice okayy!]

It was quite embarrassing as they were celebrating it under my block in direct view of passersby and considering the amount of noise and out-of-tune singing [heh heh!] involved, it was quite a sight man!

Anyway, I'm really contented and more than happy with the fact that they are really bothered about my birthday and all so, :D !!!

Later on at night, maib surprised me with her small lil' gesture of lurrvee:

ARRGHH!! On the verge of getting emotional already but before that, I'll embark on my traditional task of listing out the people who have made my day special:

First of all, Ai Ping (!!!!), for planning EVERYTHING, collecting the personal messages and getting the Josh Groban CDs! I don't know what to say man...

Olivia, for celebrating earlier even though she couldn't make it and for the plate...haha!!

Eugene for the wallet and the drawing,

Charlie Brown and Mimi for the purse, spray, card, ear studs!

Sufriena and Stephanie for the card and CD (it was really very unexpected!),

Jillian for the card [nice!] and the framed photo,

Sharina and Hanisah for the card and the pressed heart [super unexpected!],

Valerie for the postcard,

Rachel Lian for the note,

People who surprised me that were not mentioned previously: Rhyss,Sam,Charlene,Louis,Duc,Vivian,Zhiyi,Sochenda,Shannon.

and the various personal messages from which Ai Ping collated,

not forgetting the smses and well wishes from everyone else [you know who you are!]

can't ask for more...

I'm currently experiencing a "brain drain" different from that taught in Human Geog. Seriously feeling so tired and all I'm feeling warm all over. Anyway, spending time with Cuiwen,Sze Yee and Ai Ping was great as usual.

Sze Yee was super sweet. She queued for an hour or so for Donut Factory and surprised Cui and me with the doughnuts, together with Ai Ping as well. Nice surprise! :)

Cui and I had a combined birthday celebration in case you were wondering. Hahahaha! Now I'm beginning to understand all the hype about Donut Factory. The doughnuts, especially the white one which contains liquid chocolate filling, were warm and good.

overdue birthday girl

Sze Yee looks like CSI material! Haha!

The train was super packed...didn't wanna catch a whiff of any B.O...

Anyway, today was fun even though I didn't really study much....haha...thanks Cui Cui for your "ladaye's things" and Spongebob (!!)

Also, to Sze Yee for the surprise and the earrings. [Niceee!!!] and Ai Ping for helping out.

Not forgetting Duc for the book and LV Carrier [I'm content with that...haha!] as well as Louis Sim BJ for the card which was supposed to make me cry...hahaha!! :D

19 August, 2007

Just 2 more days to the big 18...somehow, the feeling hasn't sunk in yet. Guess I can't accept the fact that August came so fast, it's like I haven't started Year 2007 proper!

Anyway, my family (minus Dad) brought me to Kintamani for a Buffet (Indonesian style!). The food was good as usual but the only difference was that my stomach didn't have the capacity to hold as much food compared to the last time I ate there. Goreng Pisang was heavenly. Even my sister, one of the most fussy eaters on earth, had more than 5 in one sitting...

main course!
Goreng Pisang with Chocolate Sauce :)

Indonesian Soup with chilli and lime

mom!

Second auntaye!

The Blob showing lots of enthusiasm...

Maib!

Recently, many unfortunate events have happened around me which got me thinking. The world is so complex these days...why can't everyone live in peace and harmony and just enjoy and cherish what they have? What's with all the wars and conflicts and human abuse? You might deem me naive for even harbouring thoughts of a better world, a utopia of sorts, but it wouldn't be wishful thinking if the world became better.

Argh...anyway, I've yet to show my appreciation to the G12 for celebrating my birthday last Wednesday [pictures next time!]. Thanks Alvin, Yireng, Midori, Jasmine, Michelle, Virnice and Bernice for the cake, card and for the latest Casting Crowns CD! Ahhh!!! :D

10 August, 2007

I've been collecting photos of events that are meant to be blogged but due to my busy schedule recently (thanks to the "collapse" timetable...), I couldn't. Anyway, today being a school holiday, I finally had the peace of mind...

Met up with Cui, Jacinth, Ana and Ai Ping for Jacinth's birthday at Subway. As usual, it was really nice to catch up with the happenings in their lives. Like what Cui mentioned, spending time together this way beats the idea of watching a movie 'cos there's minimal interaction involved.

Ana looks really good here right? Her neighbour actually roped her in as a model in a makeup competition and they were first, though we highly suspect that it's due to her features and not the makeup that led to them winning....hahaha...

National Day this year was almost similar to last year's. Of course the highlight was the sing-along session in the hall. Everyone was so participative! If not for that, it would have been boring and unnecessary. You should have seen the principal AND our hot vice-principal boogey-ing and having a good time man!

This year's National Day was extra special 'cos Geraldine had this crazy idea of making another class tee which proved what we were really made of.

Furthermore, if not for the crazy antics which 06A03 is very capable of doing, it wouldn't have been extra fun...hahaha!
I couldn't resist putting this up! Our new nanny, everyone!

Nanny Favian upgraded to superstar status...

We really looked like we were on a rollercoaster ride man!

And finally, our very own Michael Jackson! [I saved the best for the last!]

Notice the shoes!

Had lit makeup right after the celebrations, which was really a mood dampener. Ms Kon popped us with a surprise: a Paper 4 unseen comparison test. Lunched at Ajisen with Rhyss and Sam and to Sam's "Animal Farm" after that. Meddled with the "Neoprint Machine" once again.

What big eyes you have, Rhyss!

Hosanna

This is fast becoming a hot favourite for worship in church. love the guitars, especially the intro.

"I see a generation
Rising up to take their place
With selfless faith

I see a near revival
Stirring as we pray and seek
We're on our knees

Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like you have loved me
Break my heart for what breaks yours
Everything I am for your kingdom's cause
As I walk from earth into eternity..."
