Why belated? you ask...well, it's cos mom and I had a minor tiff the night before so I wasn't really in the mood to even wish her, but after my emotions got the better of me, I decided that one day of quarrelling shouldn't supersede mom's many years of love and sacrifice for us, so I decide to humble myself and apologise,haha...glad I did anyway. Mom was really happy (as you can see), sorted our issues and best of all, she took a second helping (which means the cake wasn't a failure at all,haha!)
Mom still looks as pretty as her wedding day, not kidding :)

Ohya, in case you were wondering, this is French Coffee Cake without coffee (ironic right, like Hokkien Mee without prawns...haha). The ingredients are pretty simple, the usual butter, self-raising and plain flour, egg, milk, white and brown sugar (the latter constitutes part of the topping together with walnuts, which makes the cake rather sweet) and surprisingly, even my sis likes it (she prefers sour to sweet stuff).
Hope my grandfather will be able to teach me how to make his banana-raisin muffins soon, thinking about it makes me salivate...(not a pretty sight I know)
