A most traumatic experience...at least to me...

As the title suggests, today was really a close shave. I have not encountered this since that time at Bishan. (Even so, I doubt whether it actually happened at that time as I was too young to comprehend whether it was of that nature.)

After mugging with Ai Ping today, I headed for g12. As I was a tad early today(reached Bedok at 7.30pm), I decided to do as I usually would if I was early: wait for time to pass at the bus-stop opposite St.Anthony's Canossian School before slowly making my way to Yireng's place.(Just to help you understand the situation better, the area where the incident took place is very isolated and quiet at night)

After what seemed like 10 minutes, this middle-aged guy (I think) was heading toward my direction. I thought he would just bypass the bus stop and be on his way but he actually shuffled his way slowly until he was about 2 feet away from me. Everything up to this point seemed normal UNTIL he stared at me in a funny way. To make things worse, he sat next to me on the bus-stop seat and started leaning his elbow on the space that separates us on the seat.

You can imagine how I feel at this point of time. I mean, it may seem trivial as I'm telling you this but things would be different when you actually were in my position. Moving on, I was really frightened to the max but I did not display it outwardly (imagine if I did!).

I casually stood up and made my way towards Yireng's place, hoping and praying that my worse fears would not solidify. So, I walked as fast as I could, the sound of my thumping heartbeat reverberating my inner being with every step I took. (oops, too much literature but it's true ok!)

Intuitively, I was conscious of an unknown presence following me so I turned around to look and I got a shock cos this cyclist from nowhere was just behind me! So,I sorta jumped(see how paranoid I was...). Anyways,I was quite relieved after that but not for long cos my worse fears came true after all: I heard the distinctive shuffling of feet a few yards behind me! I did turn around again just to confirm the source and it was Mr.Stalker!

This time I really freaked out. Walked as fast as my legs could carry me to the lift lobby and prayed the lifts would not be at the higher floors. Saw someone boarding the lift at ground level and relied fully on God this time. Upon reaching the lift lobby, Mr.Stalker was nowhere to be seen cos I really waked very fast. No one was there with me,only the wind and the still night air.(haha)

Then, my saving grace appeared:Pastor Alan. I was super happy to see him man! It was really that bad ok....argh! Shared this to the g12 that night and made them paranoid too...hahaha...

Anyways, I've learnt my lesson the hard way.Trust in the Lord. Otherwise, stick to the main road.

Gravity....I feel...

OK! this is the umpteen time I've retyped this entry and it's either due to my computer's fault or stupid Blogger's fault...what's the point of the new version if it can't even save a basic entry?!?!

Anyways, just wanted to comment on these few weeks. As you can see, I have been rather inactive here due to the many faculty tests:study trips out with Jillian and once with Zhiyi, Choir practices....argh...

Speaking of Choir practice, yesterday was really one-of-a-kind. I think we have really gone overboard...I mean it's not everyday that Mr.Low is that angry with us, much less to storm out of the Choir Room and leave us stunned and lost...

I think this incident really affected us a lot, judging by the number of blog entries dedicated to this issue. Actually, I feel really guilty cos I was not exactly attentive that day too...Oh well, guess we just have to prove our worth through actions instead of empty talk...

AND,I have not even mention other Choir-related problems yet...

Academic-wise, I really have much to catch up on...even though I make sure that I complete my tutorials and pay attention in class, I don't think it's enough to secure the grades that I want. The worse thing is, getting straight As seem to be the norm these days. Just stop any VJCian or RJCian and the chances of him getting straight As is like 99.9999%!

I'm still in a dilemma as to whether to message Ms.Lee regarding the extra Geography lessons. She seems to be contradicting herself and if I really decide not to join the group, there's always the fear that I would not be able to pull through without Ms.Lee's help.

Then there's the Service-Learning Project (even though it doesn't really concern me that much). It's not that I have anything against Ms.Ng but sometimes she should not be overly-paranoid. I mean, I don't think our cooking is that bad to actually poison the children to such a serious extent that the association would file a lawsuit against us. And what's the point of a class discussion when you call the shots most of the time? And, what's the point of making Rhyss call the organisation when they obviously have no intention to attend to us?

I have not even gone on to talk about Econs lessons....I miss Ms.Ho :(

BUT, no point crying over spilt milk. I guess 06A03 has to just accommodate and bear with it for another 7-8 months as the fate of our SGC lies in her scrawny hands...

what makes life interesting

Econs test is done. One down even though the outlook seems bleak. After Comm meeting, went home to prepare for today's BIG DAY. haha..actually it's big to me only cos I seldom get to do this,hmm...wait.I think I didn't experience this before: getting lost in an unknown place intentionally.

Destination to get lost at: Kampong Glam (which includes Arab Street,Bussorah Street,Ophir Street,Baghdad Street...you get the picture...)

Wandering partner:Jillian

After alighting at Bugis, took a short stroll to Ground Zero. It was really interesting. Many textile shops as well as handicraft and acessories shops. There were also one or two shops which specialise in costumes and props (really cool!)

Souvenir no.1: Stickers! (can you believe it...of all things...)

Took many photos along the way of remote alleys, dilapidated houses, speaking of which, some of these houses had an eerie feel to them as the silence is too overwhelming:deafening silence. (you'll know why after you see the photos...)
One of the highlights of our vegabond-like journey would be at the tourist district. We chanced upon the shop "Grandfather's Collections!"

early days of rock n roll

To those unaware of this fortunate find, this shop was featured in the recent Sunday Times lifestyle pages as one of the places you can go to to reminisce the good ol' days..really cool! pictures below!

Souvenir no.2: clutch bags!

Bought it at the shop beside the one mentioned. One-of-a-kind man...

Kampong Glam tourist district

After all the aimless wondering,it's time for the weary nomads to grab a bite and the nearby food paradise would be ZAM ZAM! yay!

This 100-year-old establishment situated at North Bridge Road is renowned for their murtabak. Featured in the papers many times..how can we simply bypass it? :P

I ordered Beef Murtabak and Teh Tarik whilst Jillian had Nasi Briyani and Teh Peng. Now,doesn't the thought of such good food make you salivate? muahahaha!

Now sedated with a slice of heaven, the wanderers trudged wearily towards civilisation (the nearby Golden Landmark Hotel) where they tried to window shop but to no avail as the shops there were really boring so,it's off to Bugis Junction. Bought a few things here and there before heading for home whilst Jill went to her friend's place.

Such a fruitful day today.I don't think I need to go for Learning Journey already! hahaha! Took 5 hours altogether..and now, for the photos before I don't have the energy to upload them anymore...
