19 August, 2007

Just 2 more days to the big 18...somehow, the feeling hasn't sunk in yet. Guess I can't accept the fact that August came so fast, it's like I haven't started Year 2007 proper!

Anyway, my family (minus Dad) brought me to Kintamani for a Buffet (Indonesian style!). The food was good as usual but the only difference was that my stomach didn't have the capacity to hold as much food compared to the last time I ate there. Goreng Pisang was heavenly. Even my sister, one of the most fussy eaters on earth, had more than 5 in one sitting...

main course!
Goreng Pisang with Chocolate Sauce :)

Indonesian Soup with chilli and lime

mom!

Second auntaye!

The Blob showing lots of enthusiasm...

Maib!

Recently, many unfortunate events have happened around me which got me thinking. The world is so complex these days...why can't everyone live in peace and harmony and just enjoy and cherish what they have? What's with all the wars and conflicts and human abuse? You might deem me naive for even harbouring thoughts of a better world, a utopia of sorts, but it wouldn't be wishful thinking if the world became better.

Argh...anyway, I've yet to show my appreciation to the G12 for celebrating my birthday last Wednesday [pictures next time!]. Thanks Alvin, Yireng, Midori, Jasmine, Michelle, Virnice and Bernice for the cake, card and for the latest Casting Crowns CD! Ahhh!!! :D

10 August, 2007

I've been collecting photos of events that are meant to be blogged but due to my busy schedule recently (thanks to the "collapse" timetable...), I couldn't. Anyway, today being a school holiday, I finally had the peace of mind...

Met up with Cui, Jacinth, Ana and Ai Ping for Jacinth's birthday at Subway. As usual, it was really nice to catch up with the happenings in their lives. Like what Cui mentioned, spending time together this way beats the idea of watching a movie 'cos there's minimal interaction involved.

Ana looks really good here right? Her neighbour actually roped her in as a model in a makeup competition and they were first, though we highly suspect that it's due to her features and not the makeup that led to them winning....hahaha...

National Day this year was almost similar to last year's. Of course the highlight was the sing-along session in the hall. Everyone was so participative! If not for that, it would have been boring and unnecessary. You should have seen the principal AND our hot vice-principal boogey-ing and having a good time man!

This year's National Day was extra special 'cos Geraldine had this crazy idea of making another class tee which proved what we were really made of.

Furthermore, if not for the crazy antics which 06A03 is very capable of doing, it wouldn't have been extra fun...hahaha!
I couldn't resist putting this up! Our new nanny, everyone!

Nanny Favian upgraded to superstar status...

We really looked like we were on a rollercoaster ride man!

And finally, our very own Michael Jackson! [I saved the best for the last!]

Notice the shoes!

Had lit makeup right after the celebrations, which was really a mood dampener. Ms Kon popped us with a surprise: a Paper 4 unseen comparison test. Lunched at Ajisen with Rhyss and Sam and to Sam's "Animal Farm" after that. Meddled with the "Neoprint Machine" once again.

What big eyes you have, Rhyss!

Hosanna

This is fast becoming a hot favourite for worship in church. love the guitars, especially the intro.

"I see a generation
Rising up to take their place
With selfless faith

I see a near revival
Stirring as we pray and seek
We're on our knees

Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like you have loved me
Break my heart for what breaks yours
Everything I am for your kingdom's cause
As I walk from earth into eternity..."

tpjchoir got 2 Golds in Pattaya! Don't ask me why but I felt like a proud mother when they announced the results to the school....Finally, Mr.Low's efforts are rewarded...he really did a lot...

Watched the new Harry Potter movie recently...got to admit that it's kinda disappointing 'cos it was quite technical: many hovering shots of the setting and the plot wasn't really well-developed. Voldemort wasn't scary anymore 'cos he made so many appearances (some of them looking really human-like) that his mysterious and foreboding presence, evident in the other movies, was not depicted as well here. Imelda Staunton played Dolores Umbridge really well 'cos I could feel the hatred and disgust welling up in me whenever her character does her thing (very stupid things) in her pink furry coat complete with supersonic high frequency squeal that can outdo any mosquito ringtone.

And I don't understand all the hype regarding the glorious Harry Potter-Cho Chang moment of kissing. It's only 5 seconds!

Last Thursday...

We were meddling with Sam's brother's computer which was quite cool 'cos of the effects it can create and the fact that it works like a personal DIY neoprint machine (minus the money) at home.

Hmm...I think I better stop blogging so much from today. School is really adding unnecessary stress on me ( unnecessary 'cos stress is already self-induced). Principal's prep talk regarding results did not help in making things better. My schedule's so full this days I don't even have time to breathe. I need to go watch "Transformers" and reflect upon my life man. hmm...even then, the robots in disguise can't help me take my A Levels...argh...whatever...

Joan's birthday was OK. It's always nice to meet up with the guys once in a while: they're like Tiger Balm for the Soul :)

The long-awaited photos from Louis, although not complete...I can picture Rhyss nodding her head fervently in agreement! :D

Rhyss looks like a porn star here :P

Anyway, The Cheesecake Cafe was really good:from ambience right down to the food (cheesecakes were great!). Almost felt like sleeping there...I mean, just look at the place! Had a really good heart-to-heart with both of them. We should do it more often, maybe after "A"s or something :)

Can't wait for this Saturday. Will be celebrating Joan's long overdued birthday at a weird place: Kallang KFC 'cos Joan wanted KFC and Cui, living up to the "Cheapskate" name, decided on the Kallang outlet due to its free flow of drinks. talk about product differentiation. [HEH HEH....those taking econs, doesn't it sound familiar?]
